Jaco Pastorius

Esta sección es para, como su nombre lo dice, homenajear a quienes han sido mis maestros (as) en mi camino como bajista. Para empezar, quien me enamoró del Bajo, el gran Jaco Pastorius en Weather Report , quien me hizo ( en ese tiempo yo tocaba guitarra acústica) bajar las cuatro primeras cuerdas para tratar de emular ese sonido único e increíble que yo no podía creer que no hubiese escuchado antes, y menos siendo ejecutado de esa forma bestial, melódica, rítmica totalmente fantástica como parte de esa gran banda.
Luego seguí maravillándome con Shadows and Lights, en donde junto a la fantástica Joni Mitchell, y otros monstruitos de la música,  Jaco le dió ese sabor diferente a todo cuanto pasaba por sus manos, destacándose  para siempre entre miles de bajistas hasta el día de hoy.  No seguí mucho a Jaco después, pero fue él el que aunque nunca lo supo, me abrió la ventana de un mundo que fue mi mundo y mi vida después, ese es el poder de la música. Gracias por siempre Jaco!

This section is for, as its name says, to honor those who have been my teachers in my way as a bassist. To start, who made me fall in love from  Bass, the great Jaco Pastorius in Weather Report. At that time I played acoustic guitar, then I put the first four strings more low,  to try to emulate the unique and incredible sound  that I could not believe that there I didn't  heard before, with the execution therefore  bestial of Jaco, so melodic, rhythmic and totally fantastic, as part of this great band.

Then he surprised me with the beautiful album Shadows and Lights, where he played the side of the great Joni Mitchell, and other monsters of the music.
Jaco givesa  different flavor to all the music that passed through his hands, always present in thousands of bassists until now. I  did not follow Jaco much time later, but  he who never knew that he opened the window of a world that would be  my world and my life from that moment, then that's the power of music. Thanks and love for ever Jaco!
